Islamic Mahdi and the Antichrist, or the King of Kings

And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors have reached their fullness, a king shall arise, having fierce features, how understands sinister schemes. His power shall be mighty, but not by his own power; he shall destroy fearfully, and shall prosper and thrive; he shall destroy the mighty, and also the holy people.

In the last post we saw a part of a description of the Islamic Mahdi, who is awaited by many in the Muslim world to come. In this post, I want to look more closely at the similarities and differences between the Islamic version of the second coming and what the Bible says about the final times of Antichrist, and Christ's second coming.
Antichrist's amazing power will come from Satan himself, as the first prophecy in the Bible regarding him as the "seed of Satan".

He (Imam Mahdi) will appear as a handsome young man, clad in neat clothes and exuding the fragrance of paradise. His face will glow with love and kindness for the human beings

2 Corinthians 11:13-15 describes Satan in a similar way:
For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.

The Bible describes in Revelation, Jesus' second coming this way:
I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword ( the Word of God) with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter. He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
Rev.19:11-17

And in Daniel:
I looked up and there before me was a man dressed in linen, with a belt of the finest gold around his waist. His body was like chrysolite, his face like lightning, his eyes like flaming torches, his arms and legs like the gleam of burnished bronze, and his voice like the sound of a multitude.Daniel 10:5-6

The Bible describes the Antichrist this way in Daniel:
"In the latter part of their reign, when rebels have become completely wicked, a stern-faced king, a master of intrigue, will arise. He will become very strong, but not by his own power. He will cause astounding devastation and will succeed in whatever he does. He will destroy the mighty men and the holy people. He will cause deceit to prosper, and he will consider himself superior. When they feel secure, he will destroy many and take his stand against the Prince of princes. Yet he will be destroyed, but not by human power.
Daniel 8:23-25

Mahdi will establish security throughout the world. He will uproot lawlessness, remove anarchy and establish new social relations based on justice, law and respect for human rights. Everything will be precise and calculated, and as the holy Qu' ran says at that time fear will turn into security. Young women will be able to travel alone, even on highways, without the least fear of being harassed. No one is afraid of his or her right being trampled. Theft and swindling will no longer exist and there will no longer be any grounds for the corrupt and oppressors to move about. The Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali says the time of difficulties and thirst will end by our hand. And when the Promised One appears, hatred will leave hearts Women can travel from Iraq to Syria with all their jewelry without fear of anything.
Imam Mahdi will appear all of a sudden on the world scene with a voice from the skies announcing his reappearance at the holy Kaâba in Mecca. (the Kaaba stone in Mecca)

The Bible describes when Jesus comes back: At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
Matthew 24:30,31

He has a radiant forehead, black piercing eyes and a broad chest. He very much resembles his ancestor Prophet Mohammad. Heavenly light and justice accompany him. He will overcome enemies and oppressors with the help of God, and as per the promise of the Almighty the Mahdi will eradicate all corruption and injustice from the face of the earth and establish the global government of peace, justice and equity.

Daniel warns that he (Antichrist) will prosper and thrive in his drive to gain total control over the world. He will sit in the rebuilt Temple and declare himself to be God, and he will do everything in his power to "destroy the mighty and also the holy people."
He will rebel against the laws of man and God's Law. He will hate man's law because he despises God and His ultimate Law. He will change laws and the Holy days to suit his own purpose. He will have great success militarily- that is until he and his are defeated by Christ at Armageddon. His initial battles will be so successful that the people of the world will have no problem accepting him as their messiah. (Rev. 13:4,5) He will have control of all world Intelligence agencies and police forces. The Antichrist will have his own economic system - In other words, a global government, and people will see him as messiah, the one to be praised and fawned over.

The Bible states that only Jesus Christ can quench our thirst. He is the source of the Living Water.
We know that the Antichrist will wage war on the world, and those who refuses to follow him. What people need to understand is that when he comes on the world stage, the world will be much the way it is now- only worse. People will be"praying" for change and someone to take on all the problems we're dealing with. Someone who can fix the economy and make things fair for everyone. Someone who can promote peace to all the world, instead of continuing to fight with our enemies. Someone who will seem to remove those who are intolerant, old fashioned and yes, bitter and god clinging, in order for peace they want to come. Once he is "elected" or installed, he will seem to be the one who can do all of this peacefully. One day though, he will come up against those who are Christ's, and he won't be able to do anything about them- except wage war against them. And wage it he will, in a way that will make what folks like Hitler did seem like a mild spanking. Things will seem better for a time. Actually, for about 3 and a half years, but after that, all hell will break loose and people will have no choice in whom they follow.

for when the Imam reappears, he will make Kufa the capital of his world government of peace, security, justice and equity, while he will deal with world affairs from the Sahla Mosque.

The Bible tells us that the Antichrist will some day set up his world government from Babylon- which is in Iraq. Kufa, is a little south of Babylon. We know from the Bible that Christ is not coming to set up His kingdom in this world as we know it. There will be a new heaven and a new earth. Christ will rule, and it will be an everlasting peace, no more sin, no more worries about present things. Absolute peace from our King and Lord who will rule from His heavenly throne.

When Christ comes, all the world will mourn the One they rejected. When the Mahdi comes, when the Antichrist comes, the world will rejoice in the one whom they believe will save the world. When Christ comes back, He will judge the nations. When the Mahdi comes, when the Antichrist comes, the nations will look to him for answers of peace and prosperity.

There is another verse from the Islamic prophecies, which says that Christ will come to co rule with the Mahdi. We know from the Bible that Christ needs no help in being Lord or Lords and King of Kings. He is the Alpha and the Omega. The Beginning and the Last.

Who would you rather place your trust in, some mystical (satanic) upstart who needs help in his global rule, or Christ- the Very God of the Universe. The one who already took on the sins of the world so we can all take part in His Heavenly kingdom?
What truly interests me about how Satan works, is that he throws in just enough truth to make the lie more believable- and that so many who know the truth refuse to see it and therefore follow after the lie. I pray that you are not one of them.
